Why does the handpiece need to be calibrated?

The internal resistance of a surgical handpiece can vary depending on the handpiece model, the condition of the bearings, the internal gears, wear and ongoing use.
This means the torque displayed on the surgical motor may not perfectly reflect the torque being delivered through the individual handpiece.
NSK's Advanced Handpiece Calibration function is designed to account for the rotational resistance of the micromotor and the specific handpiece being used, helping the machine provide more accurate speed and torque values during surgery.
