I almost cancelled Peru because life felt too busy—until I realised there will never be a perfect time.
I want to share something with you,I almost didn’t go to Peru!
Life at home felt too full.
I was renovating my apartment, and it wasn’t finished. I hated the thought of leaving something half-done and trusting other people to manage it without me there.
Work was busy—really busy.
Flights every week, training days across Australia, emails, planning, courses… the usual chaos that comes with running a business and trying to do everything well.
And looking at a six-week trip hiking through Peru just felt overwhelming.
I kept thinking:
- Now is not the right time.
- I will rebook and go when things are less busy
- I don’t deserve this trip, yes that was also a thing.
- Next year will be a better time
Then a dear friend said something simple but powerful:
“Rochelle, just go anyway. There will never be a right time.”
And she was right
I’m now three weeks into this trip, and it has been absolutely magical.
It’s been exactly what I needed.
I didn’t realise how burnt out I was.
I didn’t realise how tightly I was holding onto everything—work, responsibility, control, making sure everything was done “my way.”

Leaving taught me something important:
Sometimes growth comes when we let go.
Trusting other people.
Stepping away.
Allowing space.
And realising the world doesn’t fall apart when we do.
Honestly… it’s the same in dentistry.
I hear it all the time:
“We’ll do the training when we get the right staff.”
“We’ll start when things calm down.”
“It’s just not the right time.”
But the truth?
There will never be a perfect time.
There will always be another busy week.
Another staff issue.
Another reason to wait.
At some point, we just have to decide to go anyway.
That’s how growth happens.
That’s how better teams are built.
That’s how confidence is created.
